It Was SO GOOD To See Them Again, The Godchasers!

When I was a college student, I was attending my brother's cell group, a young adult cell group, known as Godchaser. I was suppose to visit and join the campus youth cell group which is for people like my age but I chose to settle down at Godchaser cell group after my first visit.

Too young for a young adult cell group? Not at all! Looking back, God had groomed me well, shaped my characters and I had grew so much in my relationship with Him through this wonderful cell group for three fantastic years. After I graduated, I went back to my hometown to work and I moved on to new season of my life then as young working adult.

Today, I am not longer with the Godchaser but my heart is always full of gratitude every time when I see any of them at anywhere, whether in church or short catching up at mamak for supper or meeting up virtually at Facebook. Early this month, I got to meet up with some of them, beside than gratitude, my heart filled with great joy and it brought back so much memories. Some of them are parents now, some of them are husband and wife now, some of them are attending different cell group, some of them are migrated to somewhere else and some of them already moved on to a different phase of life. "Godchasers [you know who you are], no matter where you are right now, keep on chasing after Jesus and keep on shining for Him!"

Left Too Long...

My last post was so long ago! Many things to write about but some are very difficult to put into words. Recently, I went through many emotional roller-coaster rides. I will, surely will, will write it down but maybe not now because my thoughts are still pretty messy and everywhere which I need to put it down one by one and also arrange it properly. It definitely requires a little bit time to do it.

Please bear with me and I will surely come back again!

...just a [Vulnerable & Imperfect] HUMAN

["I'm a writer. An amateur photographer. An actor.
I'm human, just like anybody else" - Ben Affleck]

I watched so much celebrities interviews recently on a famous talk show. What I have learned from what I have watched is that celebrities are just a human, someone who are also as vulnerable and as imperfect as we are. [Yes!] They are very much a human like you and I, who is also come from the same Creator! There is only one difference between them and us is that their career or job require them to be on TV, magazine or newspaper quite often and eventually making them a famous person.

[With Elvis Presley wax figure at Madame Tussauds Hong Kong]

Just because they are somebody famous, always on headlines, but does it mean that they are someone who is 'mistakes proof'? [Nope!] Sadly, people set a very, very high expectation on them; expecting them to be perfect, say the right thing, do the right thing and make the right choice. If you say that they are someone on the TV, therefore they have to [always] set a good example for everyone who are watching them, then, how about us? Well, we are not famous like them because our career or job do not require us to be on headlines or on TV but some of us are working in a very professional job [like doctor, engineer, pilot, bus driver, teacher, tutor, a church pastor, manager, businessman, etc] does it mean that we don't need to set a good example?

[Leave the celebrities alone, they are human too! We can make mistakes and so are they, therefore, we have no right to judge anybody! Everyone, including myself, should take responsibility to set a good example and making a difference in someone's life!]

To begin, it has to start from us! ["Be the change that you wish to see in the world" - Mahatma Gandhi] Secondly, don't lose heart, keep showing your compassionate by bringing love to the people around you. ["People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care" - John C. Maxwell] Sometimes, life can be bad, unwanted circumstances can happen to anybody, therefore, with a compassionate heart, we can be the instrument or an agent for God to bring joy and comfort to the needy!

Don't underestimate yourself, what you are just a play a small role but who you are is more important; your character and your attitude is crucial when it comes to setting a good example and making a difference in someone's life and to the world! Yes, no doubt we are very much a human, often times a vulnerable and an imperfect one but if we begin with our willing heart by allowing God to make us as His vessel, don't be surprised, He can use us to do mighty great things for Him!

[Always begin with willingness and top up with LOVE!
"So no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I'm bankrupt without love.
- 1 Corinthians 13:3b (MSG)"]

God bless! Cheerio :)

A Moment Like This

"A moment like this...
Some people wait for a lifetime for a moment like this,
Some people search forever...
...Oh I can't believe it's happening to me,
Some people wait for a lifetime for a moment like this.
-A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson"

Every time when I am listening to this song, A Moment Like This by Kelly Clarkson, it will brings me back to some of my life greatest moments that I experienced before. And all these MOMENTS are very special to me which is also very precious to me. Sometimes, I wish that particular moment will last forever. Well, usually on that moment, it will just lasted for a while and then it will become a memory that you will cherish for life.

Sometimes, we just can't wait for the moment to take place, we have do something, maybe we have to work hard to earn or to achieve that moment; the special, memorable and precious moment. But also, sometimes, the moment that we wanted so much to take place might not turn out to be the moment that we really want.

I like to capture down special and precious moments and this is the reason why I bought a DSLR camera. Some people like compose a song that describe about their special moment. Also, some moments are recorded down in a book or in a video. And most of us will keep any special moment in our life and bury it deep down inside our heart!

No matter what it is, please do not miss out some precious moments in your life!

Honesty is STILL the Best Policy

I always like to tell people that the consequences of telling the truth will never be as bad as the consequences of getting caught in a lie! Well, not many people buy my words! I understand that telling the truth can be very difficult at times especially in some situations where it might cause you something. BUT what happen if you lie and at the end someone catch you lying? Remember, it is always okay to admit that you're wrong because you will never know what would be the outcome, it can be bad and it can be good too! But if you lie, it definitely shows that you are wrong and the outcome will only be one, nothing but the bad one!

Today, I went to a fast food restaurant with my mum! We ordered a set dinner for two person that comes with two drinks. Half way through the dinner, I was run out of drink and I ordered another glass. After the dinner, I went to counter to make payment. After the payment, I checked the receipt and I found out that something was not right. They didn't charge me for the additional drink! Seriously, my mum and I were hesitated to go back to the counter again to clarify the bill. I can give reason to walk away easily because it was not my mistake and they were the one who forgotten to charge me for the additional drink.

But I paused for a while, holding the receipt and thought to myself that maybe one day, I might be coming back to this restaurant again and what if the waitress and cashier can recognize me? Although it was their mistake but it is not etiquette to walk away like that. So, in the end, I approached the cashier who is also the boss of that restaurant and told him about the miscalculation of the bill. He asked me to wait for a while because he needed to clear some dirty plates. After that, he came to me and he said, "never mind about the additional drink!" so the additional drink was on the house! Although the drink don't cost much but I was really happy and feel so blessed!

So, as you can see that honesty still very much the best policy!

\ˈpa-shən\

I always have *\ˈpa-shən\ in photography because I like to capture priceless and precious moments to create sweet memories!
*\ˈpa-shən\ = Passion

Today, a typical Saturday, where I need to get up early and prepare to go to work! In my opinion, Saturday can be quite unpredictable for radiology department in Sunway Medical Centre because it can be very busy at times and sometimes, it can be very quiet. Well, today, it was just in between.

After a few x-rays here and there, the radiology general x-ray team received a case from the accident and emergency department where this patient came with bruises on the left shoulder. He had an accident where he hit onto a fallen tree which was on the road with the bicycle that he was riding. Then, his wife came and started nagging at him and warned him not to go cycling anymore and he responded with a smile. After that in the x-ray room, he said, "my wife don't allow me to cycle anymore!"

After all the x-rays, we sent him to the CT scan room to do a CT brain. One of my colleagues asked him about the accident and about the cycling event and he was so excited and he said that he is not giving up on cycling although he had a few accidents before! Wow, he is indeed really passionate in what he likes to do!

Have you ever feel like want to give up in doing something that you like to do because of some tough obstacles? I did and not just once but many times! But I thank God, who never fails to get my feet back on the ground every time when I feel like giving up!

Don't give up ya! Obstacles are not here to bring us down but to make us stronger and wiser, so that we can be more passionate in doing something that we like to do!

Cheerio l^-^l God bless ya!

Stop Looking Down on Yourself!

The one person in your life who is always looking down on you is YOURSELF!

Some people are just crazily going after something that don't last like dressing themselves up with branded clothing, chasing after the latest gadgets, dying to drive high-end cars, working more than 8hours a day for more money, etc, just simply because they think that without those things they are up to nowhere!

Always remember that, what you are is not important and it will never portrait who you are!

Dream - Parents, Please Let Your Children To Live Their Own Dream

After reading an interview about Josiah Ng in February issue of August Man magazine, I was so inspired to write this post. Read on to find out more...

Last week, I asked one of the students who came to do practical at my department what is her dream? She told me that she wants to be a doctor! Well, that's not too bad for her to be in her current field because doing medical imaging is not entire different from doing medicine. I mean at least she still in medical line. Then, I asked her actually what does she like to do? She told me that she likes to do art! Then why she is not doing art since it is something that she likes? Her dad told her that doing art is WOT = Waste of time! I was so disappointed and so sad to hear that!

God created each and everyone of us to be UNIQUE and special! And also each individual has their own dream to live in. So, parents, please stop asking your children to live your dream instead of their own dream! As the consequence, children will not be passionate in their work and they will not enjoy what they are doing because that is not what they want!

I am so glad that Josiah Ng is pursuing his dream and live it to the maximum and as the result, he become an inspiration and a good example to many young Malaysian! This is what he said in his interview that inspired me to write this post:-
"So there are options out there instead of just going to Uni and getting degree in Accounting. I want to show that there are other options out there. You can make a living out of sport. A lot of parents shy away from allowing their kids to pursue this kind of lifestyle because it is risky and not too many people can make it but If they have passion... and they put their hearts into it and focus and have some determination, then why not?" -Josiah Ng, February issue of August Man

If people ask me would I allow my children to sell Wan Tan mee? Why not if they really can cook awesome and delicious Wan Tan mee?

"Happy Birthday" -Door Bell Ringing Tone-

There is a bell at the X-ray department staff entrance. We can set various type of door bell ringing tones from normal 'ting tong' sound to some nursery rhymes tones. Seriously, I really don't know who set the door bell tone to "Happy Birthday" tone... So, everyday, we can hear "Happy Birthday" song! Hmm... Seriously, I am kinda bored of it; I always got this "Aiya, who press the bell again!" attitude. Today, my colleague's husband ring the bell; so I opened the door for him and wished him "Happy Birthday!" =P

Anyway, today, I got some inspiration for this "Happy Birthday" tone. To me, birthday is a gift from God. So, I think it is a privilege that I am always be reminder about the GIFT (which mean THE DAY ITSELF indeed is a GIFT from God) every time when I hear the door bell "Happy Birthday" is ringing...

Wow! Praise the Lord for the inspiration! I will learn to be thankful everyday!

"Yesterday is History, Tomorrow a Mystery, Today is a Gift, That's why it's called the Present"
